Pikey Peak Trek


Pikey peak is a panoramic hill station in the lower Solukhumbu region at an altitude of 4065m above sea level. The peak is popular for the view of the world’s tallest mountains viz Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Numbur, Cho Oyu, Gaurishankar, and Langtang Lirung. Pikey peak trek is a 9 days long village trek that starts from Kathmandu following a jeep ride to Dhap Bazaar along the river Sunkoshi and Tamakoshi. From the Dhap Bazar, the trail passes through the timeless villages of Jhapre to the Pikey peak base camp. You will summit the Pikey peak during the sunrise gazing at the dramatic mountain vistas of the Himalayas. Your trek will continue through the awe-inspiring sceneries of landscapes through the beautiful settlements and farm fields to Junbesi. The trail is new to tourists where you can still experience traditional Sherpa culture that is prospering in itself with drinks, delicacies, and music. Besides the simple life of the village, you will also see a wide variety of aromatic medicinal plants and orchids above 3500m. You will trek through several Yak grazing meadows and lush green Oak and Rhododendron forests in a misty atmosphere that can be a life-changing journey for many. On this trek, you will also get the rare privilege of exploring the 400 years old Thupten Chyoling monastery, Yak cheese factory, and traditional home distilleries. Your trek will conclude at the Phaplu Bazar following a 35 min twin otter flight back to Kathmandu. Time until your departure you can explore the fascinating 7 world heritage sites in Kathmandu.
